Brighton is named after the town of Brighton inside the English city of Hove and Brighton. For its initial 160 years it was a portion of Cambridge and was referred to as “Little Cambridge."
Condominiums and multi-family homes line the streets of the inviting community that is situated inside the northwest edge of Boston, upon the Charles River shores. Most of the neighborhood’s small businesses are situated alongside Washington Street that runs directly through Brighton Center toward Oak Square. Brighton Center Main Streets Plan has been attracting brand new businesses to its community, as well as providing grants for storefront renovations. Saint Elizabeth's Hospital and Franciscan Children's Hospital additionally named Brighton home.
